Business Process Visualization
StereoLOGIC Discovery™ automatically extracts business processes from existing applications allowing analysts to discover and visualize the underlying business logic. Visualization offers an efficient alternative to accelerate application development initiatives.

Visualizing Existing Applications
StereoLOGIC™ is a powerful process mapping tool that simultaneously shows the process flow, data used and screens used for each step in a business process. The discovery engine allows analysts to capture and associate screen images with process steps. Clicking on process steps in a series, allows analysts to efficiently step stakeholders through an application's sequence of screens - either reviewing the as-is system, or the as-is system with modifications embedded into the process flow. When analysts correctly describe process steps, properly formatted business use cases are produced by the documentation generator - speeding the production of documentation for systems development professionals.

Why Discover and Visualize Applications?
Over the next five to seven years much of the understanding of core legacy applications will walk out the door for the last time. These all need to be carefully documented to ensure that the business process these systems support is clearly understood prior to replacement or new systems will simply not function correctly. There is an added issue of personal information protection: while hundreds of people may need to know how a system functions, access to systems which houses personal information is highly restrictive. Enter business process visualization.

Business process visualization allows a company to share a comprehensive simulation of a production system, and redact confidential information from any documentation that needs to be circulated widely. Not only does this allow information to be more freely shared across a project team, stakeholders can more quickly edit process flows, add new screen mock-ups to a visualization to describe proposed system changes, and have stakeholders describe how the systems really work using simulations. Simulations are used to capture the 'real' system behavior - you might say a business process visualization captures the 'tribal behavior' - of users as they are physically interacting with a system. This kind of process capturing is far more representative of real life - and can be completed using far fewer resources.

Model Compare
Large organizations often have multiple systems working across multiple geographies or divisions performing similar functions. Imagine being able to quickly discover key differences in the underlying business process - how would this change your ability to implement transformation initiatives efficiently? StereoLOGIC Analyst™ has powerful functionality which automates the comparison of two process models so differences are easily identified. This means multiple teams of analysts, working on multiple systems in multiple geographies can compare similar areas of functionality with each other as they work toward process improvement.

Discovery - with Far Fewer Resources
Let's face it, requirements discovery meetings are tedious. Without tools to help guide stakeholder conversations, these meetings can wander and be inefficient. StereoLOGIC™ provides analysts with a tool to discover business process quickly and efficiently, guiding the stakeholder conversation by mapping the existing applications.

Mapping out the current state of a system is a required part of many modernization initiatives. By radically reducing the amount of stakeholder time needed to conduct this as-is analysis, executives can reduce the total time needed from management stakeholders and internal subject experts - reducing the resource drain in larger initiatives.
