Press Release: StereoLOGIC Named Cool Vendor by Leading Analyst Firm.
Cool vendor designation is hat-trick for StereoLOGIC founder and CEO, Dr Sofia Passova.
The automated business process discovery (ABPD) industry took a giant leap forward this week with the formal recognition of StereoLOGIC as a cool vendor in Business Process Management from Gartner Research. This is the third time in ten years that a company founded by business process luminary Sofia Passova has been awarded the coveted cool vendor status.

“Discovery Analyst™ is a genuine breakthrough in business process analysis,” said Dr Sofia Passova, president and CEO of StereoLOGIC. “In a nutshell, Discovery Analyst eliminates the need for lengthy and expensive stakeholder interviews and manual process documentation, and replaces it with a more accurate automated recognition of business processes in real time.”

As business transactions are executed by an employee, Discovery Analyst™ automatically recognizes and maps these processes using a proprietary semantic recognition engine that provides an accurate picture of what is going on.

The current industry statistics for process documentation has an accuracy rating of approximately 30 per cent. Discovery Analyst™ increases the accuracy of process mapping to more than 90 per cent while dramatically reducing the cost. Process discovery results are available in a matter of days instead of months.

When executing or planning a major IT project, Discovery Analyst™ essentially creates a level playing by capturing process information provided by employees at every point of interaction. This approach limits the risk associated with big budget IT projects getting off-track in the early stages and leads to a much higher project success rate and reduced costs. Shorter time spent on process discovery creates project efficiencies of 80 per cent or more in the development lifecycle.

Gartner Research also lauded the StereoLOGIC's go-to-market strategy, which reduces the upfront training time required to achieve results with ABPD and begin generating valid and informative process maps. Discovery Analyst has the shortest automated business process discovery period time available in the industry thus making it a breakthrough product and earning it the cool vendor designation.

The practice of automated business process discovery will never be the same again. StereoLOGIC currently works with a growing number of large institutional clients in government and finance. For more information about Discovery Analyst or to request a demo visit www.stereologic.com.

Press Release: StereoLOGIC and IAG Complete Current Systems Analysis for Unemployment Insurance Tax and Benefit Systems Modernization Consortium.
StereoLOGIC™ was selected by New Castle, Delaware-based IAG Consulting as the tool of choice for the capturing the over 2,500 screens which comprise the Unemployment Tax and Benefit systems of four states - Arizona, Wyoming, Idaho and North Dakota. IAG analysts, teamed with local system users, were able to rapidly capture both the process flow and complete the data dictionary for these legacy systems as part of a large scale modernization initiative.

StereoLOGIC™ is designed by analysts, for analysts, to accelerate capturing the business logic of complex systems. In this case, the as-is models carry confidential data which needed to be redacted prior to being able to share these models across the large analyst team. Also, the IAG Consulting team is assisting the AWIN UI Tax and Benefit Systems Modernization consortium to develop a common model for UI tax and benefit that will function across each of the four member States. StereoLOGIC™ Discovery will be used to assist in this assessment of the differences between individual State models within each business process.

Press Release: IAG Consulting and StereoLOGIC today unveiled their strategic alliance to commercialize StereoLOGIC Discovery™, a new class of tools for business managers and analysts working in legacy 3270 environments.
IAG Consulting and StereoLOGIC team up to commercialize new class of tools for automated discovery of business process for legacy 3270 systems
Toronto, Ontario: January 5, 2010 - IAG Consulting and StereoLOGIC today unveiled their strategic alliance to commercialize StereoLOGIC Discovery™, a new class of tools for business managers and analysts working in legacy 3270 environments. Unlike traditional requirements definition and management tools, StereoLOGIC Discovery™ can automatically extract process and information flow by monitoring user interaction with a system, and intelligently depict the business logic of an application for a client analyst team. Development executives and maintenance management undertaking legacy modernization, hampered by the erosion in system understanding that happens when long-term employees leave, can now implement self-updating systems documentation.

Reducing Application Costs for Legacy Modernization by up to 40%

This new technology works much like having an analyst sitting behind every user and recording the sequence of steps a user takes in completing a process, and capturing what data was used in a particular activity. This technology, 'Semantic Recognition', enables analysts to capture the actual use of a system - the tribal behavior - rather than relying on interviewing people to discover what they think is the behavior. Using StereoLOGIC Discovery™, analysts always have an up-to-date view of the as-is state of a system to diagnose issues, accelerate maintenance or modernization, or act as a springboard for setting new business requirements. As a real-time documentation tool - StereoLOGIC also detects changes to the business process model behind an application, and automatically builds the new process model for analysts managing the application. According to Gartner Group, even in areas such as implementing business process management, conducting process discovery, such as you might do with StereoLOGIC, accounts for as much as 40% of the effort.

IAG Consulting was selected by StereoLOGIC as its first services ally because of IAG's depth in dealing with very large scale requirements definition and management assignments. "We see this dramatically accelerating legacy modernization, particularly where people are uncertain of the as-is system function" said Keith Ellis, IAG's Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Alliances, "we see opportunity to both compress the cycle of requirements definition and enhance scope control on modernization projects."

Augmenting Existing Tools Strategies
"Many clients have Business Process Modeling tools such as Lombardi or Metastorm, or requirements definition tools like Blueprint, IBM Rational, iRise," says StereoLOGIC President, Dr. Sofia Passova, "we've built StereoLOGIC to dramatically enhance the value proposition of these tools. Instead of relying exclusively on manual interviewing to discover and input the process model, clients can pair StereoLOGIC with their existing tools to automate discovery, and pass the process model to these tools to develop and manage business processes and requirements." Says Dr. Passova, "One of the reasons we chose to work with IAG, is that they have an extensive experience with requirements definition and management tools from the leading vendors."

StereoLOGIC automated business process discovery solution is featured in ebizQ - BPM in the real World.
"Building BPM on a Process Discovery Foundation. It is common knowledge that you need to build on top of a good foundation. That advice may even be biblical but it certainly is part of an favorite old-time children's story. And even if modern parents don't tell the story of The Three Little Pigs any longer because of its violence, starting with a good foundation is still good construction advice. It applies equally to business process management (BPM) projects. And the basis of a good BPM foundation is the process discovery effort. ..."
